The Destroyer of Reality vs The God of Reality

"He who seeks to create life without understanding its fragility is no god... but his most dangerous parody."

(inspired by Mary Shelley, Frankenstein)

Before We Start…

Both characters have a large amount of material that must be carefully reviewed.

For ErrorSans, we will cover the comics Ask Error and Aftertale, as well as include material createby other authors who seek to maintain a connection or coexistence within the same universe, whether
through the story itself or through clarifications made by their respective creators. We will also take into
account all material and statements made by CrayonQueen, both about Undertale and its derivative works.

As for Sonic.exe, we will focus on the content developed by its creator JC-the-Hyena, considering the original Sonic.exe story, Sonic.exe 2, Round 2 – The Sonic.exe Sequel, as well as official comments and clarifications that expand or complement the canon of this character.

Background

Error sans

“You aren't anything but

DIRTY GLITCHES IN THE MULTIVERSE. An awful error I plan to CORRECT”

Geno was experimenting with his determination powers even after Sans warned him not to. Ignoring the warning, he used them anyway and accidentally sent himself into the Anti-Void. In his last moments of sanity, he was filled with rage because he had achieved his happy ending, yet this was what happened to him. At that moment, he hated everyone and everything outside of himself. He eventually fell asleep, but after a long time, he started screaming and no one came. Because of the Anti-Void, Geno transformed into Error.

Error spent a long time trying to escape from the Anti-Void, and when he finally did, he ended up in a universe where he spoke with that world’s Toriel through the door. When Toriel asked him not to kill the humans that appeared, Error refused. When he saw her, he realized that in this universe there were no monsters but ghosts. This caused him to have a mental breakdown, leading him to see other alternate universes as anomalies that shouldn’t exist.

sonic.exe

“I AM GOD

X is a being created outside our universe who learned about our world. Using his dark powers, he copied Sonic’s appearance and created his own world inspired by the Sonic universe to enslave his toys, the human beings. He waits for the day when the gate between his world and ours will open, allowing his dark powers to pour into our world and enslave all humanity for eternity

Experience & Skill

Error Sans

In his Sans stage, he should be at least comparable to the original, having full awareness of the existence of other timelines. During his After stage, he managed to devise a plan to eradicate Chara after killing her an enormous number of times. By the time he reached his Error stage, despite not retaining many memories, he demonstrated great intelligence  being capable of carefully planning his attacks before confronting AUs, in addition to possessing a huge number of souls, many of them belonging to humans he has killed during the destruction of the universes, discovering that Fresh was infected by the parasite without even seeing it, and understanding stories even without knowing the language they’re told in. He also possesses deep knowledge of the Multiverse and understands its complexity, as well as being comparable to Fresh Sans, who must fight to gain control over his host’s body.

Sonic.exe

Sonic.exe has demonstrated the ability to create a universe inspired by Sonic.
He is described as an extremely manipulative and intelligent being, to the point of having founded a cult that worships him as a sort of god. He also managed to create a disc that serves as a bridge between the void where he resides and the “real world,” thanks to the manipulation he exerted over a human being.  During Round 2, he also managed to carry out a series of murders without the police realizing who was responsible, until Derek discovered the cult… kill humans.

Equipment

Error Sans

Glasses

He is nearsighted, he has difficulty focusing on details and often squints or looks uncomfortable when trying to see things that are quite far away, needing his glasses.

Food

Error has the habit of stealing food, such as chocolates or sodas.

Puppets

He really enjoys playing with his puppets

knitting needle

He doesn't know how to knit, lol.

Souls

He has a collection of souls that he keeps as trophies, but they don't serve any purpose, they're just trophies.

Sonic.exe

SONIC.EXE Disks

What at first glance appears to be a common videogame disk is actually a device that functions as some sort of portal between The Void Exe resides in and our universe. The disks allow him to come to our world for a limited period of time. As seen by the end of Round 2, there are multiple Sonic.exe game disks that were made by the Cult of X in case any of them was destroyed.

Anti-Gravity Boots

uh…could not fly, at all, actually, to do so he used anti gravity boots made for him…..WHAT!?

Abilities

Error Sans

Error Physiology

The Errors are a type of anomalous species that exist throughout the multiverse. They are mainly known for their personality changes and perception, being naturally quite hostile and posing great danger or destruction to others. This species possesses some peculiar abilities:

Immunities

Resistances

ANTI-VOID

God uh ... .Error Sans exists physically connected to the Anti-Void, which is located outside of all conceivable universes, along with what would be the game's programming and the entire multiverse. At first, he saw it as a prison, but over time he learned to manipulate the code and use it to his advantage. The Anti-Void became a beneficial medium for him, allowing him to develop certain abilities.

Blue Strings

Error has blue strings that he almost always uses to capture the souls of his enemies, allowing him to manipulate their actions as if they were puppets! Yeah… they’re like strings that come out of his own body  pretty cool, right?.In addition to using his enemies as puppets, he can also use one or two of their abilities.

Sonic.exe

Dark Matter Physiology

Alright, Exe’s body is composed of Dark Matter, including most of the abilities that will be mentioned. It is eternal and therefore cannot be killed by normal means.

Fire Manipulation

Engulfed Hide and Seek in flames

Blood Manipulation

Caused blood stains to appear on the ground

Smoke Manipulation

Surrounded by smoke, X appeared in front of Knuckles.

Darkness Manipulation

 Can darken everything around him

Technological Manipulation

ere presence distorts audio recordings.

Empathic and Dream Manipulation

Existence of Higher Dimensions

He was created in The Void, a space that exists outside the universe.

Reality Warping (passive)

He has a black hole in his mouth, which allows him to swallow the souls of his slaves and erase them from existence.

Fear Manipulation

He can induce fear, as in Tom’s case , including being able to do it within dreams.

Intangibility and Incorporeal

He is made entirely of energy. Like Dark Matter.exe, he can pass through objects.

Resistance to Mind Manipulation

Removing the Dark Matter piece by piece does not affect Exe’s psyche.

Resistance to Soul Manipulation

It is stated that Dark Matter functions like a soul, but it is not one, clearly indicating that Exe does not actually possess a soul.

Forms

Error Sans

Sans Form (No applicable)

Not much to say here… this is his form before becoming Error — back when he was just a Sans.

Geno Form (No aplicable)

He went through this stage, but it didn’t last long — the Geno Sans phase, a Sans filled with determination who resides within the save screen. However, this form doesn’t really apply to him, as his transformation into Error is permanent

Error Form

The main difference between Error and his other forms lies in his mindset, he has become far more deranged and psychotic, fully determined to seek out any and all anomalies across the various timelines and destroy them

Sonic.exe

Sonic.exe

Exe takes the form of Classic Sonic the Hedgehog, specifically in his Sonic the Hedgehog 3 appearance.

This is the same form he took in the first Creepypasta’s game.

Plushie.exe

This isn’t quite a form of his, but it rather serves more as a “window” between his world and ours. The doll’s purpose is to observe his victims intently like some sort of spy just like it did with Chelsea, allowing Exe to perceive the victim meticulously before he decides to finally attack and snatch their souls.

Dark.exe

Just like Plushie.exe, this isn’t exactly one of the forms he regularly takes. Dark.exe is merely an illusory

clone that resembles him and serves the purpose of inducing confusion or fear into his victims.

True.exe

This form is what Exe’s vessel turns into beyond the Sonic disguise, also described as his “Real Form”.

This is the strongest of Exe’s forms, and its most notable characteristic is a pixelated, reality-warping

aura surrounding him, extending up to a 13 inches radius. This aura, redundantly much, warps reality, being able to twist and corrupt the very fabric of it.

Dark Matter.exe

This is Exe’s true form. An amorphous, humongous and powerful mass of Dark Matter in its purest state. It’s also Exe’s physically weakest form, and because of this, his behavior shifts completely and has his desires reduced to simply survival, attacking anybody that dares to go near it. Exe becomes able to phase through objects and inflict a severe amount of damage to anybody that even touches him.

The 7 guardians

X has 7 “guardians” ruling over his world alongside him. They are essentially extensions of X's himself, made from his power combined with powerful emotions of humans. Each guardian is named after the emotions they were born from:

  • Kirai The Guardian of Hatred

  • Kito The Guardian of Prayer

  • Gekido The Guardian of Rage

  • Kyoufu The Guardian of Fear

  • Kofuku The Guardian of Happiness

  • Aishu The Guardian of Sorrow

  • Yukubo The Guardian of Desire

X created them after gathering 30 souls. Their two main purposes are to assist X in his soul hunts and to maintain balance within his world. They don’t collect human souls directly; instead, they manipulate people’s emotions to make them more vulnerable, allowing X to claim them more easily.

For instance, Gekido can stir anger and violence within humans, while Yukubo distorts their desires and blurs the line between reality and illusion.

Scaling

Error Sans

Monster and Human Undertale

Error Sans should be able, without difficulty, to match the characters from Undertale in certain aspects, as he could pose a serious threat to Swap Papyrus, an alternate version of Sans known in the game for being one of the few monsters capable of dodging attacks.

Aftertale

It wouldn’t really need to be explained, but it’s worth making it clear: everything shown in Aftertale makes it quite evident that Error should be able to scale without much issue. There’s no reason to place him below Geno, considering that both are, in essence, the same person.

Geno and Error share the same origin, and the same core identity. At most, they differ slightly in the sense that Error became, well… an “error.” But even so, he should still possess the same determination and abilities that came with it. Moreover, it’s worth remembering that CQ himself regarded Error Sans as stronger,or at least having more HP, than Geno Sans.

Underswap Papyrus

think it’s worth explaining the scaling here. Error Sans always had the upper hand during the fight, even managing to defeat him at one point. The thing is… he lost because of his own emotions. His main weakness lies in facing a Papyrus, since he has to hold back when they remind him of his own brother. That’s why he used Underswap Sans as a puppet during the battle.

Fresh Sans and the Parasite’s Hosts

Fresh’s parasite has shown an exceptional ability to adapt, adjusting to both the skills and physical traits of each host.

Therefore, it’s reasonable to think that the hosts themselves could, to some extent, be comparable to Error Sans, as

the parasite itself reaches a level similar to his.

Other errors

Fatal_Error

UNDERVERSE AND ORIGINAL AUS SCALLING!?(optional)

Let’s start with the basics: Fatal_Error is canon within CQ’s universe, as confirmed by her own statements. In the story of Fatal_Error itself, the existence of Underverse is implied, which maintains coherence with the idea proposed by Joku in Underverse. She explained that her series serves as a sort of “continuation” of the world created by CQ and Comyet, connecting their stories within a shared narrative framework.
It’s also known that CQ collaborated on certain details that were later incorporated into the project, such as the sound effects for Fresh Sans. In a way, this scales the events here as part of the same storyline through Fatal_Error and ….Underverse scaling, yeah!

Well… about the original AUs, For obvious reasons, we should take into account what’s shown in X-Tale, since it’s…well…the story that happens before the events in Underverse.

After that comes Dreamtale.
Apparently, the creator of Dreamtale herself uses what’s shown in Underverse as an example to represent Nightmare Sans’s abilities,At least it shows that she considers it a faithful representation of how she envisions her characters, since she used what’s shown in Underverse as an example during the interview…Also… it’s worth mentioning the peculiar material from a ship the creators made with their own characters.… cough cough Dream × Cross (considering they used to be a couple).

Do you know what that means? NIGHTMARE SCALING omg (Sorry dream :( )

Well, it's not that complicated to explain this. Both Error and Ink Sans represent the creation and destruction of the Multiverse, being considered the top tiers of Underverse, and therefore should scale to most of the feats and accomplishments demonstrated by the other Sanses.

Underverse

X-Tale

Dreamtale

Error Undyne (Debatable)

DOKUDOKI COSMOLOGY

This may be somewhat controversial, but we don’t see the reason for adopting the DokuDoki cosmology as completely invalid. In the end, most of the AUs we’ve seen have already shown evidence of coexistence from both sides, as demonstrated by the presence of a Reaper, the existence of entities like Dream in Fatal_Error, or the fact that other Sanses have been mentioned there. There is simply an existence that cannot be denied. Even so, DokuDoki confirmed the fusion, with both it and CQ maintaining synchronization between their cosmologies, and CQ also providing confirmation of this.

Even so, to avoid any potential problems, we will have two possible outcomes: one that avoids the use of DokuDoki cosmology and another that includes it.

Sonic.exe

Lord X (see Before the Verdicts)

I suppose there are reasons to include Lord X, right? Well, yes... there’s an argument that tries to suggest they could be connected.
Even so, we’ll save our response to that argument for after the verdict.

Weaknesses

Error sans

He suffers from myopia and haphephobia, although the latter isn’t much of a problem as long as he isn’t the one initiating the contact. In addition, he’s overly confident in himself when he sees that his opponent is nowhere near his level of power ,as in the case of Underswap Papyrus. Oh, and one last thing: if he experiences an intense emotion that he can’t control, he may collapse and have to restart his body, something he normally tries to avoid.

Sonic.exe

One of Sonic.EXE’s main weaknesses is that he can only access our world for a limited time, as he doesn’t belong to it. If his body is destroyed, he must wait several hours before he can return. In that sense, he… is…extremely limited. Furthermore, another trait of his personality is that he is extremely egocentric, childish, and at times, even stupid.

Before the Verdict

Sonic exe (JC) ≠ Lord x (Joe)

Quite the simple thing to explain.

JoeDoughBoi, owner and creator of Lord X/2011 x has gone on to blatantly say that none of JC’s work is canon to the current iteration of the character.

ERROR SANS SMALL BUILDING!?

This revolves around the limitations that the creator tries to impose on Error as a Sans… well… all these limitations both exist and don’t at the same time. Why? Because his stats are constantly glitching, never remaining completely fixed, which makes it hard to say that his tier would be that of a normal Sans, something demonstrated by the statement that he should be stronger for killing many monsters, yet he isn’t. And despite that, he still manages to achieve great feats… So it’s both a yes and a no at the same time.

Error’s physiology doesn’t maintain his stats consistently, giving him more freedom to do things the original Sans couldn’t ,ike dodging lasers or withstanding the extremely exaggerated damage that others could receive.

Conclusion: He can belong to any tier, at least in physical terms.

GASTER IMMESURABLE OH YES!!

Well… first, let’s consolidate this. We know that Sepharim Sans has faced Gaster, someone whom Error never considered a threat or someone worth worrying about. Even during his After Sans stage, he was capable of hurting one, which makes it consistent to say that Error scales to Gaster directly.

The Gaster from Sepharim universe is comparable to the Gaster from Undertale, remembering that this Gaster was scattered across the timelines of Undertale, being able to move through or access any of them…
Well, the explanation is a bit long, but I’ll try to make it more detailed. FUN values determine what happens in the game and change aspects such as the appearance of Gaster, Clam Girl, or Alphys ordering a pizza, etc.

All these possibilities exist within the game in the form of files, which are destroyed by Chara and are treated as timelines, since Sans mentions how several timelines exist and move from one place to another due to Genocide Frisk.

In fact, it turns out to be consistent, considering the appearances of events or elements related to Gaster across the various timelines… yeah Gaster is immeasurable.

EXTRA ART!

Verdicts

Experience and IQ

Let’s start with the skills.

Sonic.Exe, on his own, has committed a considerable number of murders, around 32 victims ,which is quite a lot, no doubt. However, when compared to Error, the difference is staggering: Error managed to kill Frisk 536 times. Damn! And that’s not even counting the fact that he has faced , and even defeated, enemies with abilities very similar to his own, such as Fatal_Error or Error_Undyne. Simply put, Error proves to be far more experienced.
Considering how many times Frisk has died, it’s clear that Error possesses superior combat skills.

Now, moving on to intelligence:

Sonic.Exe has shown a cunning mind, capable of fooling the police, creating a cult through manipulation and persuasion, and even developing a disc that connects his world to ours. Without a doubt, it takes a certain level of intelligence to achieve something like that. Even so, Error doesn’t fall behind. He has an in-depth understanding of the Multiverse, its structure, and the number of universes that exist within each AU. For instance, in Underswap, Error managed to calculate a 1 in 9,109,043,495 probability of finding a single different version, an absurd figure.
And that’s not even mentioning his mastery of code and digital manipulation, which allows him to destroy entire universes. His ability to track down fragments of code belonging to a hyperspace isolated from the multiverse’s dimensions, known as the Omega Timeline, is a clear demonstration of his intellect. This timeline was specifically created to prevent threats like Error from ever finding it… and yet, he’s slowly managing to do so.

In conclusion, while Sonic.Exe isn’t completely dumb, creating a dimensional portal through programming a disc does require intelligence,he doesn’t exactly use it wisely. His arrogant and egocentric nature, his constant belief that he’s always in control of his world and every situation, makes him look like a fool.

So, in this category, the clear advantage goes to Error, leaving Sonic.Exe with only a small fraction of the score.

Stats

Alright… this explanation will be quite brief. Sonic.exe, thanks to his dark matter, can be considered capable of performing low multiversal-level feats. However, his achievements do not compare to Error’s level of destruction, as Error is composed of a vast number of timelines within each universe, granting him a multiversal scale (and that’s without considering that he could scale even higher).

In fact, Error Sans has been compared to other characters such as Fatal_Error, with whom he has had momentarily balanced fights, or even, with the help of Bluerror, managed to defeat ErrorUndyne. In both situations, it has been stated that they possessed the ability to destroy the multiverse, which is infinite, thus granting him the Multiversal+ category, far surpassing the power levels of Sonic.exe.

And you already know the difference, if we include the DokuDoki cosmology, the gap becomes even more immense, since Error is capable of casually destroying AUs, which are 5-dimensional structures, Sonic.exe loses in this aspect either way.

Alright… it’s time to talk about speed.

Sonic.exe has impressive MFTL+feats thanks to his ability to send his essence across the universe — that’s great! However, he still falls far behind no matter how you look at it.

Error, on the other hand, has the ability to jump between universes, breaking the very laws of the Multiverse, in addition to having consistent scaling to Gaster, who could move through timelines. This gives him several arguments supporting an immeasurable speed level.

So yes, this category also goes to Error Sans

Error Physiology vs Dark Matter

Dark Matter… something that completely makes up the abilities of X and his seven guardians, who should possess similar strength to his own, since they are composed of a small percentage of this energy. And that’s not even mentioning his active reality warp, or the black hole that allows him to consume souls, erasing them from existence. These are quite impressive powers, right?
Well… not impressive enough to surpass Error’s physiology.

Error possesses constant regeneration at the code level, making him extremely resistant to any form of erasure. And what about his soul? Error’s soul is so glitched that if anyone tries to damage it, they would simply go insane, and Error would even heal himself from it. Furthermore, Error has resistance to existential erasure, meaning he is completely immune to any attempt to consume his soul or erase him from existence.

And the guardians? They don’t represent a problem either. In fact, they could even be harmful to Sonic.exe himself, since the guardians possess human souls, which Error could control or even use against him, manipulating his threads and turning their powers back on Sonic.exe.

And that’s without mentioning code manipulation: through this ability, Error could nullify Sonic.exe’s powers if he manages to drag him into the Antivoid, demonstrating that he can negate the abilities of anyone who enters there, leaving them completely vulnerable.

In conclusion: against Sonic.exe, Error completely and overwhelmingly surpasses him.

Conclusion

"Ihe's a Dirty Filthy Glitch, and I agree he can't go unchecked, he must be eradicated from the Multiverse."

Advantages:

  • Trinity of stats

  • He resists erasure and has excellent regeneration

  • His Erroneous Physiology protects him from any attempt at reality manipulation

  • There is a possibility of manipulating his code from within the Anti-Void, allowing one to nullify his abilities or alter his stats

  • Can eliminate his target from a distance, without needing to be in their world

  • Can use his threads with the Guardians since he’s composed of 30 souls, being able to use the same powers of Sonic.exe against him

Disadvantages:

  • His myopia is a Disadvantages.

  • Becomes overly confident when things go his way

  • Cannot use his threads on Exe, since Exe has no soul

  • The ASKERROR was hastily completed…

  • Dislikes hugs

"SO MANY SOULS TO PLAY WITH SO LITTLE TIME…WOULDN'T YOU AGREE?."

Advantages:

  • They outnumber Error when counting the Guardians

  • Has methods to keep distance and take advantage of his myopia

Disadvantages:

  • Most of his abilities become useless against Error and his physiology

  • Could be at a disadvantage if Error discovers that the Guardians possess human souls

  • Is vastly outmatched in stats

  • Trusts his abilities too much, acting like an idiot

  • His creator got involved in many controversies

  • Sonic PC PORT > Sonic.exe

Final Tally

Error Sans (2) - Doctor Ducksy, Wolf

Sonic.exe (0)

Lord X (1) - Rapero

Some of the elements used in the scaling section were taken from Siffrin vs Asriel Dreemurr (specifically the part about scaling Undertale’s monsters) and Fresh Sans vs Uncle Samsonite (the part about scaling Aftertale). You can check them out if you’d like ,both analyses are really well made and feature very interesting matchups
